- RSC Anderlecht-Bayern Munich on Desso GrassMaster
Next Thursday, two matches in the 1/8 finales of the UEFA Cup will take place on a special grass system. RSC Anderlecht plays against Bayern Munich in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. Tottenham Hotspur hosts PSV Eindhoven.
Despite the winter season and the busy match schedule, both matches can be played on an immaculate pitch. This has been made possible thanks to professional maintenance and the innovative Desso GrassMaster system: a 100 % natural grass pitch reinforced by some 20 million artificial grass fibers. The patented product is engineered by Desso Sports Systems.
Tonight, the UEFA Cup will be played on a pitch in perfect condition despite the
abundant rainfall of the last few days and the busy match schedule. This has been made possible due to the able groundsman with his team and the ingenious Desso GrassMaster system: a natural grass pitch reinforced with 20 million artificial grass fibres. The home advantage for Anderlecht will not be determined by the field during this match. Tottenham Hotspur also plays on the same Desso GrassMaster system at White Hart Lane.

As part of the new phase of construction at the multi million pound complex, a new full size artificial turf pitch is currently being installed. Following a visit to their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs, who installed a Desso Challenge Pro60 pitch in 2006, Chelsea selected Desso as the surface provider for this prestigious project.
From next season, the Belgian national champion RSC Anderlecht will be playing on an exceptional pitch: a natural grass field strengthened with 20 million synthetic grass fibres, known as the Desso GrassMaster system.
This patented product is from Desso Sports Systems. Anderlecht is already familiar with this system on their main training pitch. The management and the coaching staff were encouraged by the positive feedback they received about Desso GrassMaster when they visited Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who also use this system in their stadiums. (…)
RSC Anderlecht will be investing greatly in its training complex in the coming years.
The ambitious project, which, amongst others, comprises the construction of two indoor football stadiums and six outdoor fields, will secure the future of the club at the top level.
Anderlecht already relied on Desso for the main training pitch. This positive experience convinced Anderlecht to embark on a long-term collaboration with Desso for the match and training pitches.
