One of Europe's most important tournaments of 2012 takes place on hybrid natural grass pitches. Desso GrassMaster has been installed in Donbass Arena (Donetsk) and Metalist Stadium (Kharkov). "In three weeks time, Donbass Arena will host 5 matches in the EURO 2012 tournament, including a quarter and semi-final. With Desso GrassMaster we will have a perfect playing surface throughout the tournament," says Alexander Atamanenko, CEO of Donbass Arena.
The training center “Ciudad Real Madrid” is a credit to its name. With its 11 football pitches and 1,200,000 m2 of accommodation, it is one of the largest training centres in the world. In 2005, while building the training centre, Desso was selected to supply the artificial turf pitches. The original pitches are being upgraded in 2 stages. The first three Desso pitches have been in use since early February. The existing pitches will be transferred to schools and clubs in the area.
Wembley is the iconic home of the English national team and also plays host to a number of top matches in the English football calendar. Wembley is also a true multi-functional stadium, hosting other sporting events including rugby and american football as well as pop concerts. The Desso GrassMaster system aims to allow Wembley to combine these functions to full effect.
