‘AquaPush’: up to 12 times less water usage in sprinkling hockey pitch
Last year Dutch hockey club BHV Push joined in on a pioneering project with Desso Sports Systems and its Dutch partners Silt and Heijmans. The club installed the very first mini hockey field with ‘AquaPush’ sprinkling system. With this revolutionary system, the club only uses 9 m³ of water per year for sprinkling its water pitch. A minimum quantity in comparison with the 6000 m³ used when sprinkled traditionally. In the summer of 2012, the Dutch club will install the first full size artificial turf pitch with AquaPush system.
First completely reusable artificial turf field
Also in 2011, Desso Sports Systems was granted its first C2C® basic certificates, with the development of 100% polypropylene artificial grass products. The components of this turf can easily be reincorporated into the production process. Also the installation methods meet the C2C®-conditions. The first C2C® artificial pitch was installed at Valuas College (the Netherlands). The entire artificial grass pitch can be used again as raw material for new artificial grass pitches, including seaming tape and glue. In doing this, Desso Sports Systems goes beyond any other artificial grass manufacturer.
