Modernize an Icon
Farrington Field is a true icon for Texas high school football. Originally built in 1939, the stadium was a dream destination for the Forth Worth school district’s football and track student-athletes. But after 70 years, the iconic stadium in Art Deco design was in need of a renovation. The goal of this renovation was to bring the extraordinary stadium into the 21st Century by upgrading the playing surface and refinishing the stands, while still maintaining the original architecture.
Save money by laying artificial turf
The field was converted from natural to artificial grass and the 7-lane running track was rebuilt. By laying artificial turf, the district will save money through lower maintenance costs and heavy rains will no longer be the impediment they have been for 70 years. “Paragon Sports submitted on the Desso D-Vision product and they were selected as the best value with a great turf that met all of our requirements,” says Robert J Palmer, Senior Officer Design and Construction Services at Forth Worth ISD.
