Durable and resilient turf for American school stadiums

Play it safe

Forth Bend ISD in Texas (USA) played it safe when they decided to redevelop two of their stadiums, Mercer and Hall Stadium. “We’ve seen a trend with buyers becoming more educated when it comes to the quality of various turf products. Ft. Bend ISD has some of the first generation, non-infilled, surface draining turf fields so they took the time to research the replacement product and drainage system,” said William Chaffe, President of installation company Paragon Sports Constructors.

Desso iDNA: durable and resilient

Chaffe: “At Hall Stadium the district chose to completely remove the asphalt base and crown from the field and install a new vertically draining stone base with a Desso iDNA synthetic playing surface." Desso iDNA artificial fibres unite two contrasting properties of synthetic yarn into one turf system: resilience and durability. The fibres have a natural feel and optimal shock absorption. A Desso iDNA synthetic surface better takes up jolts of the players and in doing so reduces the risk of injuries and offers the players more certainty of play.
